What's covered in this article
Users now have the ability to have their entries digitally signed by either themselves, a corroborator or a third-party (e.g. witness) on Verinote Mobile. This not only authenticates the entry, but produces an exportable witness statement from the Verinote Desktop Application. This could be used to take witness statements, confirm versions, or have another person corroborate your own entries.
What you need
You will need to update your Verinote mobile version to 4.0.8 or later by visiting Verinote on the Apple App Store and selecting 'UPDATE'. Please note, if 'UPDATE' isn't available, that's great. It means you are already on the latest version.
You may also need access to your desktop or laptop computer, to re-authenticate by scanning the QR Code as you did when you first registered your Verinote mobile application. If you need a reminder, here are the steps to do so.
Digitally signing your Verinote mobile entries
- Create a Verinote mobile entry as you normally would.
- Before you save your entry, select the
button where you would normally add a recording or photo and select the signature option.
- This will take you to a second screen where you, or another person, can review the entry before signing it and attributing a name.
- Save the Verinote entry as you normally would. This will create not only a signed Verinote entry, but also a prepared and signed statement for you to export on the Verinote Desktop application.
