What's covered in this article
VeriSaaS provides Verinote as a secure service, which is restricted to either invited users or members of an organisation with a Master Services Agreement with VeriSaaS. This means, prior to accessing your Verinote account, VeriSaaS or your organisation will have already provisioned it for you.
In any instance, you must still register your Verinote account. Registering your account must be done on a desktop or laptop computer, using either Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Apple Safari or Mozilla Firefox. You will not be able to register your account on a mobile device, or use the Verinote mobile applications until you follow the steps below.
This article will show you a step by step guide to accepting your Verinote invitation, registering your Verinote account, accessing the Verinote Portal for the first time and authorising your Verinote mobile applications.
Accepting your Verinote invitation
When VeriSaaS finishes provisioning your account, you will receive an invitation to the email you have provided either VeriSaaS, or the agency you work for.
- One you have received the email, you will need to select Accept Invitation. This will take you to your web browser. If you or your agency already uses Microsoft for authentication, you will need to simply enter your password.
- If you or your agency uses another identity provider, or you do not have a Microsoft account, you will be asked to choose a password and confirm your email address.
- Once you have entered your password or created one. You will be asked to review and accept the permissions VeriSaaS (or your organisations) needs from from you, to use Verinote. If you agree, select Accept.
- Once you accept, depending on your agencies security requirements, you may be asked to confirm your mobile phone number and enroll in Multi-Factor Authentication. Once completed, you will have been authenticated in the Verinote system.
Accessing the Verinote Portal for the first time and registering
By now, you should have received an email from your organisation/agency's Verinote administrator, with your organisation/agency's specific Verinote URL (e.g. agency.verinote.app). This Verinote URL is unique to your agency and is your access point to the Verinote Portal. Follow these steps to access the Verinote Portal for the first time and register your Verinote account.
- Make sure you have your Verinote URL (e.g. agency.verinote.app) on hand, and either paste or type it into your web browser. This will take you directly to the login screen.
- Enter your organisation/agency email address as your Verinote username (e.g. David.Smith@agency.gov.au), select
and then enter the same password you use to access your organisation/agency's systems (e.g. email) and select
.
- You will then be asked to read and agree to VeriSaaS's Privacy Policy, WebApp Terms of Use and the Verinote End User License Agreement. You may download these terms and refer to them later. If you do not agree to any of these terms, it is essential you do not click 'I have read and agree' and you cease using Verinote immediately.
- If you have agreed to these terms, you will be presented with the registration screen.
- Select an appropriate level based on your role (you will likely be a general user).
- Select your default timezone, although Verinote will attempt to detect it for you based on your location.
- Then, enter the mobile phone number (including country code without the 0, e.g. +61 433 838 123) attached to the mobile phone you intend on using Verinote on, and select
.
- You will then be altered to the fact a One Time Password (OTP) has been sent to that mobile phone number, select OK.
- You will then receive an SMS message from 'VeriSaaS' with a unique OTP. Enter this OTP in the One Time Password field and select
.
- By now you have successfully registered your Verinote account and will be redirected to the Verinote Portal.
- Make sure you stay there for a while, you will need it to authorise your Verinote mobile application.
Authorising the Verinote Mobile application
Verinote is cross-platform, which means you can access your Verinote account on the web (through the Verinote Portal described above); downloadable Verinote Desktop Applications for Windows & Mac; and downloadable mobile applications for your iPhone, iPad, Android Phone or tablet.
